Biography

Tatyana Vasilyevna Shlykova was born around 1773, probably in Moscow, in the family of serfs Count Sheremetev. Father - Vasily Shlykov, was a weapon in the arsenal of the house arsenal of Count Pyotr Borisovich Sheremetev. Mother - Elena Shlykova, served under Countess Varvara Alekseevna Sheremeteva, nee Princess Cherkasskaya. The Shlykovs were recorded by peasants of the village of Pavlovo, Nizhny Novgorod province.

At the age of 7, Tatyana Vasilievna was brought up in a manor house, where they taught etiquette, recitation, French and Italian, music, singing and dance. Her teacher was the famous choreographer Charles Le Pic . From childhood, she performed on the stage of home theaters in Kuskovo and Ostankino . She was considered the first dancer of the troupe of the Sheremetev’s serfdom theater. Got the pseudonym Granatova.

She spoke to the royal guests of the Sheremetevs. During a visit to the Kuskov estate by Empress Catherine II , the sovereign liked Tatyana Vasilyevna’s performance so much that she called her to her box, gave her a kiss on her hand, praised her for the dance, and presented several pieces of gold.

She performed divertissement pas de deux ( pas de deux ) and pas de trois (pas de trois), comedic roles (Annette in the ballet “Annette and Luben”), dramatic roles (Creusa in the ballet “Medea and Jason” J. J. Rodolfo, Queen in the ballet "Inesa de Castro" F.A. Bualdieu). She also performed opera parts - “Samnite Marriages” by A. Gretry, (Young Samnitianka), “Funny Fight” by D. Paisiello (Clarissa).

In 1803 she received a free, but continued to live with the Counts Sheremetevs. Tatyana Vasilievna was a close friend of Countess Praskovya Ivanovna , nee Kovaleva (stage name - Zhemchugova), the wife of the serf theater trustee, Count Nikolai Petrovich Sheremetev . In 1801, she was a witness at their wedding in the temple of Simeon the Stolpnik on Povarskaya . After the sudden death of both, she raised their son, Dmitry Nikolaevich , and then helped raise their grandson, Sergei Dmitrievich .

Tatyana Vasilievna was a religious person. She regularly prayed at divine services, strictly observed fasts (especially Lent), and was friends with people of spiritual rank. More than once visited the Trinity-Sergius Deserts near St. Petersburg (now within the city). She knew well the abbot of this monastery, the future saint Ignatius (Brianchaninov) .

Tatyana Vasilyeva Shlykova-Granatova died in old age, January 25 (February 6), 1863 in St. Petersburg.
