On March 6, 2000, the Colorado Avalanche exchanged rights to Polsson at the Boston Bruins . In the 2002/03 season, Polsson, with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks team, reached the Stanley Cup finals, where the “ducks” lost to the New Jersey Devils in seven games.

In total, Polsson played 21 games in this playoff and scored 12 points, including a winning goal in the second game of the final. He was nominated for Frank J. Selky Trophy , but the prize went to Rod Brindamor.
