Biography
He entered the service on January 1, 1735. In 1741 he was promoted to ensign in the Butyrsky Infantry Regiment with the appointment of a second- lieutenant adjutant outhouse . During the Russo-Swedish war of 1741-1743 and before it began, Yakovlev was repeatedly appointed a courier both within the state and outside it for execution of roll-call decrees and a courier from commanders of generals of various secret assignments. In addition, as a combat officer, Yakovlev distinguished himself in the battle of Wilmanstrand in 1741, in 1742 near Friedrichsgam , Zaseka, Bargov and during the siege of Helsingfors .
In 1743, he fought in the galleys. Produced on January 1, 1744 as a captain, Mikhail Yakovlev was first transferred to the first Moscow and then to the Leib-Cuirassier regiment .
In 1751 he was appointed adjutant general , in 1755 he was promoted to colonel, on January 30, 1761 - to the foremen, and March 3, 1763 - to major general.
