System Features
The exoplanet is a gas giant , with a minimum mass m sin i , which is only 75% of the mass of Jupiter [1] . It revolves around HD 187085 in a strongly elliptical orbit ( eccentricity 0.47, according to other sources 0.33 [4] ) at an average distance of 2.05 AU and makes a complete revolution in 986 Earth days [1] .
Since the exoplanet has a high eccentricity, its distance from the star varies from 1.09 a.u. at the pericenter up to 3.01 AU in the apocenter . This leads to the fact that it periodically falls into the habitable zone , which is located at a distance of 1.48 a.u. from HD 187085 [2] .
The system’s parent star, HD 187085 , is a yellow dwarf of spectral class G0V; its mass and temperature are 1.22 M соответственно and 6075 K, respectively [1] . A star is much younger than our daylight : its approximate age is 3.3 billion years [1] .
