Biography

In 1792 he entered the Kherson Corps as a cadet and on January 1, 1794, was promoted to midshipman .

From 1794 to 1798, he took part annually in voyages in the Black Sea . January 1, 1796 he was promoted to warrant officer and the next two years was in the campaign on the Taganrog brigantine "Proknor". He served in the Sea of ​​Azov on the boat "Elen" in 1800, from 1801 to 1802 he went on the ship "Galata" from Nikolaev to Sevastopol , and in 1803 he served on the schooner " No. 1 " in the Black Sea. March 10, 1804 he was promoted to lieutenant, commanding the same schooner, moved from Nikolaev to Corfu, from where he transferred to Malta and then to Venice . Until 1808, he served first on the hasty frigate , then on the strong and daring frigates, and was annually on the Corfu raid [1] .

In 1808 and 1809, on the frigate, the “Daring” was first in Trieste, then in Venetian raids. In 1810 he returned from Trieste to Nikolaev by land. In 1812, on the ship " Lesnoye " sailed from Nikolaev to Sevastopol, after which he was sent as part of the 75th ship's crew to the Southern Army, which stood at Ackerman . In 1820 he commanded the Ganymede brig in the Black Sea, and the next - at the port of Sevastopol.

From 1822 to 1825, commanding the hasty frigate , he set sail annually in the Black Sea [3] .

In 1826, commanding the same frigate , he sailed from Sevastopol to Redut-Kale "for the removal of officials belonging to the Persian mission."

In 1827 he was at the Nikolaev port and supervised the construction of the Erivan frigate and the Anapa ship, after which, commanding the Chesma corvette, he moved from Nikolaev to Sevastopol. December 6 promoted to captain 1st rank. The following year, commanded the 41st naval crew. August 22, 1831 was promoted to rear admiral and appointed to command the 3rd brigade of the 2nd naval division.

In 1834 and 1835 he was the chief commander and military governor of Sveaborg , and from 1836 to 1842 - the chief commander of the Arkhangelsk port and the Arkhangelsk military governor. In this position in December 1837 he was promoted to vice admiral . In 1838 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 1st degree, and in 1841 the Order of St. Anna of the 1st degree. On April 24, 1842 he was appointed a member of the Admiralty Council, in 1846 he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 2nd degree.
