Biography

From the hereditary noblemen of Kobelyak district.

He graduated from the Poltava Cadet Corps and the Mikhailovsky Artillery School .

He was a teacher in the Poltava Cadet Corps (1863), then an inspector of the Vladikavkaz Gymnasium, inspector of the Tiflis Cadet Corps (1883-1892) and director of the Poltava Cadet Corps (1892-1905).

While in Poltava, he took an active part in public affairs, so he was a member of the board of the Holy Makaryev Brotherhood in Poltava and its honorary member, member of the Board of the Poltava branch of the Imperial Missionary Society, member of the Imperial Palestinian Society, the first chairman of the Poltava Academic Archival Commission , from October 1903. until August 1905, and its honorary member, contributed to the establishment in Poltava of the circle of physical and mathematical sciences, where it is an honorary member, comrade chairman of the Poltava branch The Russian Red Cross Society and its honorary member, was a member of the board of trusteeship about the house of industriousness, a fellow chairman of the Poltava branch of the Russian Society for the Salvation of Water.

He was an honorary trustee of the Noble Boarding Shelter in Poltava, was the chairman of the Society for the Promotion of Physical Education of Children in Poltava and its honorary member, was a member of the commission on the development of the establishment of a noble boarding school shelter in Poltava. He donated 10 acres of land to the Kobelyak district zemstvo for the establishment of a public school in the family estate of the Potock brothers in the village of Prosyanikovka, Ozersky volost, Kobelyak district. The deed of gift stipulates that upon the introduction of universal education in the county, these 10 acres of land should come into the ownership of the society of the peasants of the village of Prosyanikovka. The society of employees in the Poltava Cadet Corps, after leaving the post of director, contributed more than 300 rubles to the Kobelyak Zemsky District Council, the interest from which would be given to the best students of the school in the mentioned village.
