Production
Coal mining in 2001 amounted to 4 million tons. Previously included in the trust " Donetskugol ". Refers to the sphere of influence of the former and. about. Prime Minister of Ukraine, People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Party of Regions Yefim Zvyagilsky , who in 1979 - 1992 worked as its director, and now is its honorary president. In addition to the coal business, the company is a prominent participant in the agricultural market. The mine’s subsidiary, Shakhtar Agrofirm, is one of the five largest pig holdings in Ukraine [1] .
On November 9, 2010, the State Property Fund of Ukraine decided to begin preparations for the sale in 2010 of the mine named after. A. F. Zasyadko ” [2] .
Scientific work
It was planned to create a scientific center on the basis of the mine to study safe operations at great depths and gas-bearing strata [3] . After the third explosion in two weeks, it was decided to flood the 13th lava of the formation l 1 . Flooding work began on December 3, 2007 [4] .
A 3250 m deep well began to be drilled at the mine. For these purposes, a drilling rig was purchased, installed and put into operation. Such deep wells in the Donbass have not previously been drilled. Due to well drilling, gas-bearing horizons at depths up to 3250 meters will be determined. Ways of possible gas removal from deeper horizons located on the territory of the mine will also be determined. It is planned that the gas produced after drilling the well will be used for processing at the mine’s cogeneration station. A methanometric protection system has already been installed and put into operation at the mine, which allows not only to measure the concentration, but also to measure the rate of rise of methane .
Accidents
A number of major disasters at Ukrainian mines occurred at the mine:
- May 24, 1999 - 50 miners died.
- August 19, 2001 - 55 miners were killed.
- July 31, 2002 - 20 miners were killed.
- September 20, 2006 - 13 miners were killed. A major methane release occurred . Lava was new, it should have been commissioned. The gas protection automatics worked and the explosion did not happen, but the miners were poisoned by gas.
- On November 18, 2007 , the largest catastrophe in Ukrainian coal mines occurred after independence in 1991 - 101 miners were killed [5] . Two weeks later, on December 1, 2007 , a second explosion occurred on the same horizon - 52 miners were injured [6] ; the next day - December 2, 2007 - 5 mountain rescuers involved in the aftermath of the accident were killed [7]
- March 4, 2015 - methane explosion. On March 6, 34 deaths were known [8] . The explosion occurred at a depth of 1230 meters.
The accident of September 20, 2006 and the explosions of November 18 and December 1-2, 2007 occurred on reservoir l 1 . As a result, it was decided to close the formation for mining [9] .
Mine since 2014
During the war in the Donbass, the mine ended up in territory controlled by the DPR authorities. In March 2017, the mine was nationalized by them and is operating (as of August 2017) at almost full capacity [10] .
