Emanuel Ilyich Adirovich (born August 24, 1915 - September 10, 1973 ) was a Soviet theoretical physicist in the field of solid state physics , Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, member of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR [1] [2] . The author of more than 200 scientific papers.

Biography
Born on August 24, 1915 in Melitopol . In 1940 he graduated from Moscow State University . After that, for 22 years he worked at the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences . In 1949 he received a doctorate in physical and mathematical sciences. Since 1963 he was a professor at the Physicotechnical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR .
He died on September 10, 1973 in Tashkent . He was buried at the Botkin cemetery [2] .
Research
He is one of the founders of the band theory of luminescence of crystals and dielectric electronics, predicted and discovered the phenomenon of “cold flash”, constructed the theory of optocouplers and optocouplers, discovered the effects of anomalously high photovoltage and anomalously large photomagnetic voltages in semiconductor films, and obtained an exact solution to the problem of emission currents in dielectric during thermionic and field emission from a metal [1] [2] .
