Biography
Born in the village of Sergeevo, now Ivanovo Region, 2 km from the village of Palekh. Father, Ivan Matveevich Kokhmakov, previously a grandfather, Matvey Kokhmakov, kept an icon-painting workshop in their large two-story house with a mezzanine. I. M. Kokhmakov was considered a Moscow merchant. In 1820, she married Morozov Yakov Gerasimovich (until 1802–1847). She settled with her husband in the village of Fofanovo in his new house. During her husband’s last trip to southern Russia, she and her daughters visited her sister Maria Ivanovna Pryakhina (after 1804-1876) in Shuya, where a fire broke out on August 11, 1847, which destroyed part of the city. A little later I received news of the death of her husband. She lived in Morshansk , Novocherkassk, Rostov, Taganrog . In Taganrog, settled in the house of General Papkov . In 1851, with her two daughters, she made a second trip through the whole of Russia on horseback to Shuya. In 1854, in Taganrog, she married the merchant Pavel Egorovich Chekhov (1825–1898), her daughter Evgeny Yakovlevna Morozova (1835–1919) (mother of A.P. Chekhov). In 1855, she witnessed the bombing of Taganrog by an English squadron during the Sevastopol War [1] .
