The territorial prefabrication Cafayate ( lat. Praelatura Territorialisis Cafayatensis ) is the territorial prelature of the Roman Catholic Church with its center in the city of Cafayate , Argentina . The territory of the Prelature of Cafayate is included in the Metropolis of Salta . The Cathedral of the Territorial Prelature of Cafayate is the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary.

History
On September 8, 1969, Pope Paul VI issued a bull “Praeclarissima exempla” , which established the territorial prelature of Cafayate, isolating it from the archdioces of Tucuman , Salta, and the Diocese of Catamarca .
