Central Design and Research Bureau of Sports and Hunting Weapons

The Central Design and Research Bureau of Sports and Hunting Weapons ( TsKIB SOO ) is a military-industrial complex enterprise located in the city of Tula . Under this name, one of the oldest research institutes and design bureaus is involved in the development of small arms in Russia.

History

The Tula Design Bureau of Sports and Hunting Weapons was created on March 4, 1946 at the Tula Arms Plant . By its Decree No. 1403 of December 23, 1958, the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR separate the TsKIB from the Tula Arms Plant into an independent enterprise with its subordination to the Tula Sovnarkhoz, and a year later, by Decree No. 1423 of December 31, 1959, subordinate the TsKIB to the State Committee of the USSR Council of Ministers for Defense Technology ( hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Defense Industry) [1] .

Firearms developed and manufactured by the enterprise received its own index:

  • MC (" model TsKIB SOO ") - since 1948, for sports , hunting and civilian weapons.
  • OTs (" sample TsKIB SOO ") - since 1960, for military weapons.

On March 5, 1985, in accordance with a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, for his services in creating samples of special equipment, TsKIB SOO was awarded the Order of the October Revolution .

In 1997, in accordance with the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation [2], the bureau was included in the Tula Instrument Design Bureau as a branch.

Current status

The main area of ​​work is the study of promising directions for the development of small arms and cannon weapons - automatic cannons, machine guns, machine guns , sniper rifles , pistols , grenade launchers , machine tools, installations and ammunition for them.

Another, no less well-known, type of activity of TsKIB SOO is the development and manufacture of sports and hunting weapons, including small-scale and piece samples in premium , decorative and gift designs.
