Akshukur or Akshukyr [1] ( Kazakh. Aқshұқyr ) is a village in the Tupkaragan district of the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center and the only settlement of Akshukursky rural district. It is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea , about 100 km southeast of the city of Fort Shevchenko , the administrative center of the region. The KATO code is 475233100 [2] .

In 1999, the population of the village was 3347 people (1658 men and 1689 women) [3] . According to the 2009 census , 6,230 people lived in the village (3,146 men and 3,084 women) [3] .
