Karol Litovor Khreptovich (d. C. 1801 ) - statesman and military figure of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania , full Lithuanian guard ( 1759 ), Lithuanian coronet court ( 1781 - 1786 ), Grodno warden ( 1786 ).

Biography

Representative of the Lithuanian noble family Khreptovichi coat of arms " Odrovonzh ". The son of the stolnik of Grodno Yakub Khreptovich and Theodora Tuminskaya.

In his youth, Karol Khreptovich served in the Prussian army ( 1740 ), then was a corral in the Lithuanian guard. In 1743 he was elected a deputy from the Grodno Povet to the Lithuanian Tribunal . In 1744, Karol Khreptovich became a Lithuanian coronet guard. In 1746, he was Adjutant General of the Vilnensky Kashtelyan and the Lithuanian Hetman, Prince Mikhail Youzsef Masalsky .

Initially, Karol Khreptovich, who was under the patronage of the subcarbium of the great Lithuanian Jerzy Fleming , campaigned for him on the seymics and managed his estates for several years. In 1750, he was re-elected a deputy to the ON Tribunal from the Grodno region, where he bore the rank of Zemsky clerk. In 1748 - 1752 he was vice-economist of Grodno . In 1759, Karol Khreptovich was appointed guard of the entire Lithuanian. Two years later, in 1761, Khreptovich’s candidacy did not pass the elections to the Lithuanian Tribunal , but in 1762 he was elected ambassador to the Sejm.

During the interregnum (1763-1764), Karol Khreptovich, under pressure from the Czartoryski party, left for Koenigsberg . In 1767 he was elected Marshal of the Grodno Confederation.

Karol Litovor Khreptovich opposed the equation in the rights of dissidents ( Protestants and Orthodox) with Catholics . In 1767, he opposed the arrest by the Russian ambassador N.V. Repnin Kayetan Soltyk , Jozef Andrzej Zaluski , Wenceslas and Severin Rzhevuski .

In 1768, Karol Khreptovich joined the Bar Confederation , in April of that year he was in Vienna, and in August 1768 he stayed in Moldova among the bar confederates. In 1769 he returned to the post of marshal of the Grodno Confederation. Then he was in Presov , from where in 1771 he returned to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania .

In 1772, after the defeat of the Bara Confederation, Karol Khreptovich accompanied the governor of Vilnius Karol Radziwill, "Pan Kohanka" into exile. Until 1774 he was in Venice .

In 1781, Karol Khreptovich received the position of a Lithuanian outdoor coronet. In 1782 he became a holder of the Order of St. Stanislav. In 1786 he was appointed headman of Grodno. In 1794, he supported the Polish uprising led by Tadeusz Kosciuszko .

In 1751, Karol Khreptovich married Anna Khreptovich, the daughter of the Verbelsk head Martian Khreptovich. Around 1768, the couple divorced.
