Biography
July 15, 1951 was ordained a priest .
On January 16, 1970, Pope Paul VI appointed Matthew Jia Yanwen Bishop of Chiayi. On July 16, 1970, Matthew Jia Yanwen was ordained by Cardinal Pavel Yu Bin , accompanied by the Archbishop of Taipei, Stanislav Luo Guan and the titular Bishop of Salamis, Joseph Guo Joshi .
On December 14, 1974, he was appointed Bishop of Hualien. On November 15, 1978, Pope John XXIII appointed him Archbishop of Taipei.
He retired on February 11, 1989.
