Biography
Ivan Kormishin was born on December 6, 1923 in the village of Grabovo (now the Besson district of the Penza region ). After eight classes, he lived and worked in the village of Aleksandrovka, Penza Region. In January 1942 he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. In 1943 he graduated from the Ulyanovsk Tank School, after which he was sent to the front of the Great Patriotic War [1] .
By April 1945, the Guard, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Kormishin, commanded a tank company of the 56th Guards Tank Brigade of the 7th Guards Tank Corps of the 3rd Guards Tank Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front . Repeatedly distinguished himself during the Berlin operation , successfully operating during the forced crossing of Neisse and Spree , the Telts channel , street battles in Berlin [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 27, 1945, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Kormishin was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .
He died suddenly on July 10, 1945, was buried in the Polish city of Boleslawiec [1] .
He was also awarded the orders of the Red Banner , Alexander Nevsky , World War 1 degree, Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
