Biography
Konstantin Korzov was born in 1904 in the village of Lugovoye (now the Kolyshleysky district of the Penza region ). Russian After elementary school, he worked on a collective farm . In 1941, Korzov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since August of that year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Member of the CPSU (b) [1] . By September 1943, Corporal Konstantin Korzov commanded the gun of the 1844th fighter-anti-tank artillery regiment of the 30th separate fighter-anti-tank artillery brigade of the 7th Guards Army of the Steppe Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper [2] .
On September 26, 1943, under massive enemy fire, Korzov’s calculation crossed the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Borodaevka of the Verkhnedneprovsky District of the Dnipropetrovsk Region of the Ukrainian SSR and took an active part in the battles for the capture and retention of the bridgehead on its western shore. In those battles, the calculation destroyed a large number of military equipment and manpower of the enemy [2] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 26, 1943, Corporal Konstantin Korzov was awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal for "exemplary performance of command missions of the command on the front of the fight against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism" " Under the number 1398 [2] .
In early July 1944, Korzov was seriously injured, from which he died on July 8. He was buried in a Russian cemetery in the city of Balti [2] .
He was also awarded the medal "For Military Merit" (09/13/1943) [3] .
