Origin

Born in a family of immigrants from Little Russia . His grandfather was a priest in the Chernigov province . His father, brother of A. A. Prokopovich-Antonsky , Mikhail Antonovich Prokopovich-Antonsky (1760-1844), graduated from Moscow University and in 1791 was a bailiff in civil matters at the Moscow Higher Zemsky Court, in 1801 he was appointed chief secretary in 6- m department of the Senate, and then the General Meeting of its Moscow departments. As a student, meeting with N. I. Novikov , M. A. Prokopovich-Antonsky collaborated in his journals - he was a translator of the Latin works of Locke and the French book of Rousseau [2] . His brother, the uncle of Vladimir Mikhailovich, Anton Antonovich , also an associate of Novikov, was an inspector of the University noble boarding school and made a lot of efforts to turn this educational institution into a model. This boarding house, under the enlightened cares of his uncle, was given to Vladimir, and later his brothers, Dmitry and Nikolai .

Biography

After graduating from the University noble boarding house “ with a golden board, ” Vladimir Mikhailovich Prokopovich-Antonsky entered the Imperial Moscow University .

As early as June 23, 1804, according to the custom of that time, for the course of his service life, V. M. Prokopovich-Antonsky was recorded in the staff of the Moscow Archive of the College of Foreign Affairs; in 1810, he was apparently transferred, after graduating from the university, to the Expedition on State Revenues and began full-time service. He left Moscow in June 1812.

In the spring of 1814 he was sent to the army as an accountant at the liquidation commissions; from July 10, he was assigned to the Konigsberg liquidation commission for settlements with Prussia . Until August 1818, he served as Russian Consul in Königsberg; then accompanied Alexander I to Berlin as an official for special assignments.

February 1, 1820 returned to the Expedition. Since May 8, 1821 - Head of the Treasury Expedition of the Supreme Georgian Government ( Tiflis ).

In 1824, with the rank of college adviser, he was appointed vice governor of the Penza province ; distinguished himself during the fight against cholera (1830). In 1833, on April 2, he was promoted to acting state councilor .

From January 1, 1836 he served as the Ryazan governor (approved March 16, 1838); repeatedly won the gratitude of the empress for the care of the Ryazan house of industriousness. For service in Ryazan and especially for the provision of national food in the province during a crop failure, he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 2nd degree (1841).

Since March 1841 - Director of the 1st Department of State Property, one of the assistants of Count P. D. Kiselyov in the management of the Ministry of State Property. In 1841 he was a member of the special Committee for the revision of the distribution system. Since January 31, 1844 - Privy Councilor . From May 12, 1848 - Senator of the 8th Department of the Senate (Moscow).

Died in Moscow, buried in the Donskoy Monastery .

He owned villages in Volokolamsk Uyezd [3] .
