The design of the building in a neobarochny style was designed by architect Ferdinand Hauser in 1896-1897. Built at the end of the 19th century by Gustav Tönnis, the facade was made by Philip Supachich. The pharmacy belonged to the Mayer family, who founded the business back in the early 19th century. Before World War II, the building also housed a cafe. In 1990, attributed to the monuments of local architecture [1] .

The white building has three floors and an inner courtyard, located along the embankment of the Ljubljana River . The main facade, facing Preshern Square, is decorated with a risalit with four columns installed on the balcony of the second floor. The columns are crowned with ionic capitals . On the roof is a dome with three oval windows. The cornices over the windows are decorated with stucco decoration: floral patterns, human heads and other figures [2] .
