Museum History
The Kramatorsk Art Museum was founded in 1967 on the basis of the People's Art Gallery opened in 1959. The funds of the folk art gallery were formed by enthusiasts led by I. I. Parkhomenko, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. With the acquisition of official status (1967), the museum’s funds were replenished with a unique collection of paintings and drawings of the 18th-19th centuries, transferred from the State Hermitage Museum , the State Russian Museum , and the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. Pushkin [2] .
At first, the art museum in Kramatorsk worked as a branch of the Donetsk Regional Art Museum .
Foundations and Exposition
Currently, the museum has more than 1700 works of painting, graphic art, sculpture, decorative art of the main fund.
The museum contains paintings by famous Ukrainian artists: N.P. Glushchenko , S.I. Sholtes, E.R. Kondratovich, I.F. Manail, A.A. Shepa, M.G. Deregus , T.N. Yablonskaya , V.I. Gurina, V.F. Sidoruk, which were written in the middle of the 20th century [2] .
Ukrainian art of the 1960-80s is represented by M.P. Glushchenko, K. D. Trokhimenko, T. M. Yablonskaya, V. I. Gurin, S. L. Kosheva and others.
Russian painting is represented by the works of famous masters: N. A. Lavrov , V. D. Polenov , P. I. Petrovichev . Graphic works by Russian masters include works by A.F. Zubov, G.A. Kachalov, I.A. Sokolov, V.A. Serov and others.
The main replenishment of the funds of the Kramatorsk Museum of Art in recent years has been donated by artists - members of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine I. I. Bazilevsky, V. A. Kononenko, P. F. Shapovalov, T. A. Shumskoy, V. V. Gutyrei, artists V. V. Serbin, G. A. Malkov, R. A. Bach and others.
Museum workers also formed a fund of decorative and applied art, presented by the works of the National Masters of Ukraine K. A. Bobrova, L. V. Shapovalova, A. N. Kuzmina, I. P. Epishina, V. V. Skumen, R. B. Slepova, E.V. Podmogilnoy.
About 30 exhibitions [3] are annually exhibited at the Kramatorsk Art Museum, which are visited by about 27-30 thousand people [4] .
