Biography
Born into a Franco-Algerian Jewish family in Tel Aviv. He spent his childhood in a suburb of Paris . He made his film debut in 1989 in the movie Eric Roshan's “Ruthless World” (Un monde sans pitié) with the participation of Hippolyte Girardot and Mireille Perrier. The first role brought him his first success - Ivan received Cesar as the most promising newcomer.
As a director, he made his debut in 1997 with the short film “I Had a Woman”. And in 2001 he shot the melodrama "My Actress Wife", where he played in tandem with Charlotte Gainsbourg , with whom she has been living in an unregistered marriage since 1991 and has three children.
Attal's acting career moves across the ocean and he appears in Hollywood films. In 2005, he played in the thriller Sidney Pollack “Translator” and in “ Munich ” by Spielberg , and in 2007 - in the third part of the comedy thriller “ Rush Hour ”.
In 2012, a new directorial film by Ivan Attal - “Do not enter, we are not dressed” was released.
