Assumption ( Kazakh. Өspen ) - a village in the Shetsky district of the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center of the Assumption rural district. It is located about 70 km west of the village of Aksu-Ayuly , the administrative center of the district, at an altitude of 642 meters above sea level [1] . The KATO code is 356477100 [2] .

In 1999, the population of the village was 1335 people (700 men and 635 women) [3] . According to the 2009 census , 1016 people lived in the village (540 men and 476 women) [3] .
