Emery succeeded his father as Count Fesansaka. For the first time in modern documents he is mentioned after 1020. He later seized the church estates in Vic , owned by the Archbishop of Osh , and transferred them to his favorite, accused of murdering Raymond Pub , senor de la Mothe. Despite the call of Archbishop Garcia , Emery refused to return the captured and extradite Ramon. For this, the archbishop excommunicated Count Emery from the church [2] [3] .
Also, the name Emery is mentioned in connection with the foundation of the monastery of Saint-Pe-de-Genere , which occurred in 1023, as well as in connection with a number of privileges given to him by the monastery of Saint-Luper in Oz [3] .
Emery died before 1032. He was succeeded by the eldest son Guillaume II Astanov . Another son, Raymond I , received the barony of Montesquieu, becoming the ancestor of the Montesquieu clan, which exists at the present time. The third son, Arno Emery, chose a spiritual career [1] .
