It refers to the urban settlement of Lotoshino , before the 2006 reform, it belonged to the Monasein rural district [2] [3] . Population - 57 [1] people. (2010).

Geography
Located in the western part of the urban settlement, on the left bank of the River Russa , about 12 km west of the district center - the urban-type settlement Lotoshino . The nearest settlements are the village Kornevskoe , the villages of Monaseino and Dulepovo of the Shakhovsky District . Bus service to the district center [4] .
Historical Information
In the “List of populated places” of 1862, Markovo is the owner's village of the 2nd camp of the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow province on the right side of the Zubtsovskiy tract (from the village of Yaropolch ), 40 versts from the district city , with ponds, with 42 yards and 426 inhabitants (206 men , 220 women) [5] .
In 1890, a village county board was located in the village, and the number of male souls was 201 [6] .
In the second half of the XIX century, according to the project of 1885, a brick chapel was erected in the village in memory of the coronation of Alexander III and assigned to a church in the village of Kornevskoy. The chapel has not been preserved [7] .
Until 1924 the village was the center of the Markov parish . By a decree of the Presidium of the Moscow Council of March 24, 1924, the Markov parish was incorporated into the newly formed Ramensk parish [8] .
According to the materials of the All-Union census of 1926 - the center of the Markov village council, 669 people lived here (315 men, 354 women), 112 farms were counted [9] .
Since 1929 - a settlement in the Lotoshinsky district of the Moscow region.
- Markov Republic
On October 31, 1905, the peasants of the Markov parish , dissatisfied with the plight, proclaimed the republic with its capital in the village of Markovo. They chose their government and refused to obey the orders of the authorities. The peasant union prepared the text of the Markov peasant demands, which consisted of 12 points and was called the “Verdict”.
The republic lasted for 8 months (until June 18, 1906), after which all its organizers were arrested and convicted [10] .
