Varshavsky, Ivan Nikolaevich

Biography

Ivan Nikolaevich Varshavsky was born on April 10, 1938 in the village of Zagnitkov of the Kodymsky district (now Odessa region ). After graduating from a seven-year school in 1953 , he worked on the construction of a highway in the Kodymsky district - he laid pavers .

In 1957 he was drafted into the army. He served in the border fleet in the Baltic for three years .

After demobilization in 1960, he joined the Odessa-Chisinau Railway , where he worked until 1972 .

In 1964, he attended training courses for foremen at a road technical school, after which he went to study at a school for working youth, which he graduated in 1969 . In the same year he entered the Nikolaev Railway College . But I did not manage to finish it for a number of reasons. He received a diploma of secondary technical education a few years later at the Irkutsk Construction College .

Working on the railroad, he perfectly mastered the profession of a railwayman , led a brigade, and actively participated in public life. And yet, from time to time, he experienced some kind of spiritual dissatisfaction. It was a time of shock Komsomol construction projects. Thundered Bratsk , Ust-Ilimsk , it was rumored that the construction of the Abakan-Tayshet railway .

Warsaw left the region where he was born and raised in 1972 . Together with his family, he leaves for Siberia to work on the Abakan-Tayshet railway line - the “courage route” built by the heroic efforts of the transport builders of the Angarstroy department under the leadership of F.V. Khodakovsky .

He worked in PCh-31 as a quality inspector. He was responsible for the maintenance and overhaul of the ditch . Then he worked as an engineer for labor protection , combining the main activity with the duties of the secretary of the party organization of the traveling distance.

In 1974 , with the start of the construction of the Baikal-Amur Railway , he quit his previous job and came to BAM, in the village of Tyndinsky (since 1975 - the city of Tynda ).

He begins his work at BAM in SMP-567 of the construction department "Bamstroyput" as the head of ZhKO .

By the decision of the party and the leadership of Glavbamstroy, the Communist of Warsaw in 1980 was sent to GOREM-28 (head repair and restoration train No. 28) to lay the track’s upper structure. When you look back on the path you have traveled, you remember everything with a slight sadness and pride for friends, for the brigade, for passing, not giving up, withstanding ... It’s not only responsible for yourself that a person seeks to support his comrades, share knowledge and experience, even sacrifice something, sacrifice for the sake of others, for the sake of a common cause. And the one who helps, and the one who is helped, become richer from this, a more generous soul. These qualities were inherent in our team.

Most of Ivan Varshavsky’s pupils became good specialists, dispersed to other teams, and led the teams themselves.

On September 29, 1984, at the Balbukhta junction in the Chita Region , at 10.10 Moscow time, the BAM rails closed. The Komsomol-youth brigades of Alexander Bondar and Ivan Varshavsky, who walked towards each other for a long 10 years, met, thereby marking the opening of through traffic throughout the Baikal-Amur Railway (the construction of the Baikal-Amur Railway was completed in 1989 , when the highway was put into continuous operation) .
