The castle is located on the top of Mount Chojnik (612 m above sea level), in the Dzielnica Sobieszów cities of Jelenia Gora in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of Poland. It was built in the middle of the 14th century . During a storm on August 31, 1675, a fire started from a lightning strike, which partially destroyed the fortress. In 1860, a camp site appeared in the ruined castle. Since 1991, a crossbow shooting tournament has been held here, one of the largest in Poland.
