History

It is mentioned as the village of Volguieuo by in Zamozhsky churchyard in the Swedish "Scribe Books of Izhora Land" from 1618-1623 [2] .

It is marked on the map of Ingermanland by A. I. Bergenheim , compiled from 1676 materials, as the village of Wolga [3] .

On the Swedish "General Map of the Province of Ingermanland" in 1704, as the village of Wolgova by [4] .

The village of Volgova and Volkova was also acquired on June 4, 1764 by college assessor Alexander Fedorovich Golubtsov for his wife Anna Ivanovna from Prime Minister Stepan Fedorovich Seliverstov, his daughter Elizabeth and the son of the retired Life Guards Lieutenant Alexander for 5000 rubles [5] . The village is assigned to the Grebleva Manor of Koporye County.

On the map of the St. Petersburg province of J.F. Schmitt in 1770, Volgovskaya Manor is mentioned in the village of Volgov [6] .

In 1809, the owner of the village of Volgovo - a member of the State Council , Minister of Finance of the Russian Empire Fedor Aleksandrovich Golubtsov , began construction of a stone Orthodox church in the name of the Holy Great Martyr Irina . The construction of the church was completed in 1812, at the same time a chapel was erected next to the church.

According to the 6th revision of 1811, Volgovo Manor belonged to the wife of the actual state adviser A. I. Golubtsova [7] .

The village of Volgovo , with 50 peasant households and the adjacent Volgov manor (Golubtsov), is mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 [8] .

VOLGOVA - the manor and the village belong to Colonel Golubtsov, the number of inhabitants according to the audit: 121 m. p. (1838) [9]

On the map of F. F. Schubert in 1844, the village of Volgovo from 50 yards is indicated [10] .

In the explanatory text to the ethnographic map of the St. Petersburg province of P.I. Köppen in 1849, it is recorded as the village of Wolgowa ( Volgova ) and the number of its inhabitants for 1848 is indicated: Ingermanlanders - Savakot - 58 m., 60 w. n., a total of 118 people, Russian - 130 people [11] .

According to the 9th revision of 1850, the village of Volgovo belonged to the landowner Ekaterina Dmitrievna Golubtsova [12] .

VOLGOVO - the village of the lords of the heirs of the Golubtsovs, on a country road, the number of yards - 36, the number of souls - 108 m. (1856) [13]

According to the 10th revision of 1856, the village of Volgovo also belonged to the landowner Ekaterina Dmitrievna Golubtsova [14] .

According to the “Topographic Map of Parts of St. Petersburg and Vyborg Provinces” of 1860, the village of Volgovo consisted of 42 peasant households, on its southern outskirts there was a church and the Volgovo manor, in the village there was a bread store and two windmills [15] .

In 1868, temporarily liable peasants of the village bought their land allotments from P. P. Golubtsov and became land owners [17] .

According to a map of the environs of St. Petersburg in 1885, the village of Volgovo consisted of 32 peasant households, on its southern outskirts there was a manor, a church and a windmill [18] .

According to statistics on the national economy of the Peterhof district of 1887, the Volgovo manor with an area of ​​1079 acres belonged to the merchant A. M. Vilenkin, it was acquired in 1877 for 25,000 rubles [19] .

In the 19th century, the village administratively belonged to the Gubanitsky volost of the 1st camp of the Peterhof district of the St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the 20th century - of the 2nd camp.

According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, Volgovo Manor with an area of ​​980 acres belonged to merchant Abram Markovich Vilenkin [20] .

In 1909, the only Russian-Finnish Orthodox parish in Russia was formed in the village of Volgovo at the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Irina. The service was conducted in Russian and Finnish. The parish included the villages: Volgovo, Muratovo, Gorki, Ozhogino, Kotino, Mednikovo and Finatovo. In addition, all Orthodox Ingermanlanders who lived in Tsarskoye Selo County were assigned to the Volgov Russian-Finnish parish.

In 1912, the owners of the Volgovo estate were: the hereditary honorary citizen Smirnov and the peasants Kekki and Khamlyaynen [21] .

By 1913, the number of peasant households in the village increased to 39, in addition, the guesthouse and the manor house were located in the village [22] .

From 1917 to 1923, the village of Volgovo was part of the Volgov village council of the Gubanitsky volost of Peterhof district .

In 1928, the population of the village of Volgovo was 374 people [23] .

According to 1933, the village of Volgovo , as well as the village of Volgovo and the village of New Volgovo , were part of the Gorsky Village Council of the Volosovo District [24] .

In 1939, the Irinovo Church was closed.

From August 1, 1941 to January 31, 1944, the village was under occupation.

Since 1954, as part of the Gubanitsky Village Council.

Since 1965, as part of the Volosovsky district. In 1965, the population of the village of Volgovo was 193 people [23] .

In 1997, 138 people lived in the village of Volgovo , the village belonged to the Gubanitsky volost, in 2002 - 101 people (Russians - 94%), in 2007 - 178 people [28] [29] [30] .

In 2002, the Volgov Russian-Finnish Orthodox parish was restored.

Geography

The village is located in the northeastern part of the district on the highway 41K-013 ( Zhabino - Verest).

The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 9 km [30] .

The distance to the nearest railway station Volosovo is 15 km [25] .
