Biography
Marcel Josseran was born in Lyon on October 5, 1900 . In 1920 he became a member of the Lyon Linnean Society, in 1922 he was elected to the French Mycological Society. In 1935, 1946, 1968 and 1972 he was elected president of the Linnaeus Society. In 1947, Josseran became a member of the Lyon Academy of Sciences and Arts, in 1953 he was its president.
In 1970, Josseran became honorary president of the Lyon Linnean Society, in 1972 - an honorary member of the French Mycological Society.
Marcel Josseran studied macromycetes of Central Europe , he wrote many articles in the journal of the French Mycological Society. Josseran also planned to write a monograph of the genus Hygrophore , but it was never published.
M. Josseran died on March 28, 1992 .
