Mend ( German: Mend ) is a Russian baronial genus of Finnish origin.

The Mend genus comes from Finland and dates back to the 19th century.

With the diploma of the Princess Ruler of the Principality of the Reuss High Line Carolina of Hesse-Gomburg [1] dated May 8/20, 1866, the Finnish landowner hereditary honorary citizen Friedrich Mend was elevated with descending descendants to the baronial dignity of the Principality of Reuss senior line .

In January 1878, the highest deign followed the adoption of the aforementioned dignity and the hereditary use of it in Russia.

By the decision of the Governing Senate of November 5/17, 1879 it was decided: to issue certificates for the right to use the baronial title to the sons of the aforementioned Baron Friedrich Mend: Friedrich, Rudolf-Gottlieb, Nikolai-Voldemar and Eduard-Wilhelm.

    • Baron Friedrich (Fedor) Mend
      • Baron Friedrich Fedorovich Mend (born 1889 d.?). In 1900-1908 he studied at the St. Petersburg Real College at the gymnasium [1]
    • Baron Rudolf Friedrichovich (Fedorovich) (Rudolf-Gottlieb; Rudolf Gottlieb) Mend (born 1867 d. Until December 18, 1943 [2] , Helsinki [2] , according to other sources - 1940 [3] ). In 1889 he graduated from the Nikolaev Cavalry School , an officer on August 10, 1889, served in the Life Guards Horse-Grenadier Regiment . In 1897, the staff captain of this regiment [4] , then the captain; since 1906, retired colonel. From 1908 to 1911, the secretary of the Court of Grand Duchess Alexandra Iosifovna , then adjutant to Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich , was under the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Mavrikievna and the manager of the princes of the Imperial Blood Konstantin and Igor Konstantinovich [7] .
