Shavshi ( Georgian. შავშები ) is a sub - ethnic group of Georgians . They lived in the historical region of Shavsheti . After the conquest of Samtskhe-Saatabago, the Ottomans were Muslim. Shavshi mostly preserved in the highland of the historic Shavsheti - Imerkhevi .
