Biography
Zinaida Gerasimova (Gorlanova - last name by her husband) was born on January 10, 1934 in the village of Burtsevo (now Novoduginsky District, Smolensk Region ). She graduated from primary school. In 1948 - 1961 she worked as a milkmaid on the collective farm “Rassvet”, then, when this collective farm was transformed into a state farm , she continued to work in it until 1975 [1] .
During her work, Gorlanova achieved a record milk yield - more than 5,500 kilograms from each of the cows assigned to her [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 8, 1971, Zinaida Gorlanova was awarded the high title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer medal [1] .
In 1975 - 1977, Gorlanova worked as an assistant controller at the farm at the state farm, in 1977-1989 - as a breeder of livestock breeders. She participated in the Exhibition of Economic Achievements of the USSR, was awarded several medals. Actively engaged in public activities, was elected a deputy to the village, district and regional councils of people's deputies, a member of the Novodugin district committee of the CPSU, a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR of the 7th convocation. In 1989, Gorlanova retired. She died on November 17, 2003, and was buried in the village of Tesovo, Novoduginsky District [1] .
She was awarded two Orders of Lenin (1966, 1971), the Order of the October Revolution (1973) and a number of medals [1] .
