The village is located south of the center of the rural village of Arefino . She stands on the left bank of the Pelevin stream, in its upper reaches. In the center of the village flows a stream, the left tributary of Pelevin. A road runs along the Pelevin bank from the village of Ananyino to the southwest to Loktevo. This road serves as a connection with a remote group of villages in the south of the rural settlement: Pozdnyakovo , Loktevo, Ushakovo , Dolgiy Lug , Ivanovskoe , Popovskoye , located in the upper reaches of the Pelevin stream and its tributaries [2] .
The village of Lokteva is indicated on the plan of the General land survey of the Rybinsk district of 1792.
On January 1, 2007 in the village of Loktevo there were 7 permanent residents [3] . The village is served by a post office located in the village of Anagnino [4] .
