Biography
Born October 26, 1922 in the village of Ugroedy , in a working class family. Ukrainian. In 1938 he graduated from 7 classes. He worked as a mechanic at the Sumy Engineering Plant. He studied at the flying club .
In the Red Army since 1940 . In 1941 he graduated from the Chuguev Military Aviation Pilot School. Member of the Great Patriotic War since 1942 .
Fulfilled more than 220 sorties, shot down 25 enemy aircraft personally and 6 in the group [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 1, 1944, for the exemplary performance of combat missions, Viktor Nagorny was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin .
After the war, he continued to serve in the USSR Air Force . He died on July 12, 1964. He was buried at the Central cemetery in Sumy.
