Biography
Victor Nedogorov was born on January 18, 1903 in Astrakhan . After graduating from a religious school, he worked as a locksmith. In 1921, Nedovorov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. In 1926, he graduated from the artillery branch of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee . Participated in battles on the CER . Since 1941 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By the summer of 1943, Colonel Viktor Nedogorov commanded the 17th anti-tank artillery brigade of the Kalinin Front , which repeatedly distinguished itself during the battles in the Smolensk region , destroying a large number of enemy military equipment. On October 6, 1943, the Nedogorov brigade participated in breaking through the German defense and reaching the Nevel - Gorodok - Vitebsk road . The enemy launched a series of counterattacks, during one of which Nedovorov was seriously injured, but managed to withdraw his units from the encirclement. Despite the efforts of doctors, on October 12, 1943, he died from his injuries. He was buried in the central square in the city of Velizh, Smolensk region [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 4, 1944, for “exemplary execution of the combat missions of command on the front of the struggle against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism”, Colonel Viktor Nedogorov was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Orders of Lenin , Red Banner , World War 1 degree, a number of medals [1] .
