Penkegnei ( Penkingei ) is a bay on the west coast of the Senyavin Strait of the Bering Sea . Administratively it relates to the Providensky district of the Chukotka Autonomous Region of Russia .

The shores of the bay are surrounded by high and steep mountains. At the entrance to the bay there are two small stone islands of Merkinkan and Achinkinkan .

Historical Information
Penkegney Bay was first described and mapped by midshipman Ratmanov in the fall of 1828 during the expedition of F.P. Litke [2] .
On the coast of the bay there are no permanent settlements. In 1928 a trading post was built here , but a year later it burned down and was no longer restored [3] .
