History

The ancestor of the dynasty is Guillaume Garcia , the second son of the Duke of Gascony Garcia II Sansha , who after the death of his father in about 926 received territory including the future counties of Fesansac and Armagnac . Guillaume Garcia had 4 sons and a daughter. After his death, two sons shared the possession of his father. The younger, Bernard I Le Louch , received the possession of the county of Armagnac. He became the ancestor of the house of d'Armagnac . The second son, Odon Falta, received the county of Fezansac. Two other sons, Raymond and Fredelon , whom some researchers call the Count de Gore , did not leave offspring.

Not much is known about Odon's closest successors. Odon, who, due to numerous atrocities, received the nickname "Falta" - "Mad", is known for the only son of Bernard I Odon Mansya Tine . He founded a monastery in Oz . Bernard had two sons and a daughter. The youngest son, Raymond I Koppa , chose a spiritual career and in 1036 became Archbishop of Osh . The eldest, Emery I , was excommunicated due to the seizure of church land and the concealment of the killer. He left three sons. Of these, the second, Raymond I , received the barony of Montesquieu and became the ancestor of the barons of Montesquieu - an extensive family that exists now. The younger, Arno Emerik, chose a spiritual career. The eldest, Guillaume II Astavan inherited Fezansak.
