History
The museum was created on a voluntary basis by decision of the 1978 session of the district council. The expositions were located in two rooms of the regional House of Culture with a total area of 48 m². The museum collection totaled about 500 museum objects. In 2001, the museum received the status of a district and was transferred to a separate building. In March 2002, new museum exhibits were open to visitors [1] .
Description
The museum houses collections of archeology , numismatics , documents, photographs, clothes and a collection of household items.
Collections [1] :
- Archaeological collection (65 objects): products from flint, ceramics of the Stone and Bronze Ages.
- Collection of numismatics (100 items): mainly Russian coins of different denominations and years of issue (the oldest dates from 1893).
- Collection of documents (90 items): certificates, certificates, membership cards, passports, credentials, acknowledgments, certificates and others. Most of them are from the Second World War (the oldest document dates back to 1898).
- A collection of photographs (242 subjects): portraits, subject and species photographs (the oldest photograph dated 1897).
- A collection of towels and women's clothing (55 items): towels and shirts, Russian, Ukrainian, holiday and ceremonial, from homespun linen, embroidered in two-tone red-black colors.
- Collection of household items (150 units): tools, utensils, household items made of wood, metal, vines and clay.
Museum expositions are located in three rooms: green, red and blue. The green hall contains expositions telling about nature, archeology and ethnography of the Belokurakinsky district . The exposition of the Red Hall is dedicated to the civil and World War II , the liberation of the Belokurakinsky from Nazi invaders and the post-war reconstruction of the area. The exposition of the blue hall is about the modern development of the native land [2] .
