Golden State Warriors is an American professional basketball club from Auckland ( California , USA), serving in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team was founded in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors in Philadelphia , PA . In the debut season, the team won the Championship of the Basketball Association of America (BAA), which subsequently, after merging with the National Basketball League (NBL), became the National Basketball Association [1] .

In 1962, the team moved to San Francisco , changing its name to San Francisco Warriors. The club performed under this name until 1971, after which it changed its name to its current Golden State Warriors [2] . In addition to the champion title won in the 1946/47 season , the team four more times became the NBA champion: in the 1955/56 season in Philadelphia and in the 1974/75 , 2014/15 and 2016/17 seasons already as the Golden State [3] . The Warriors also became Conference Champions 8 times (3 times Eastern and 5 times Western) and 6 times became winners of the Pacific Division .
