Jacob Collins ( born Jacob Collins ; born 1964) is an American painter, a representative of realistic painting . A leading figure in contemporary classical Renaissance art, is the founder of The Grand Central Academy of Art in New York .

Biography
Born August 11, 1964 in New York. Comes from a family of artists and scientists. His cousin Meyer Shapiro is an influential North American Marxist historian and art theorist , art critic.
As a child, Jacob copied the works of famous artists in the Metropolitan Museum of Art . Already at a young age he realized that he wanted to become an artist and work in the classical style. He studied in Europe and the New York Studio School (New York Studio School), received a degree at the school in Dalton (The Dalton School). He attended the New York Academy of Art (the New York Academy of Art).
His teachers were Aaron Kurzen, Ted Seth Jacobs, Michael Aviano, and sculptor Martine Vaugel. Collins performed many, probably, training copies of the great masters in the museums of the Prado , the Louvre , the Uffizi Gallery in Rome. In the early 1990s, he founded Water Street Atelier, in which he trained many young artists to work in the classical style. Currently, with his wife, writer Ann Breshers (Ann Brashares) and four children lives in New York.
