In the village of Vognenikovo, known from the 16th century , Vognikovo also has long existed the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a chapel Series of the Miracle Worker, destroyed at the beginning of the 17th century. In the scribe books of Dmitrovsky Uyezd for 1627, it was mentioned that belonged to the Trinity-Sergius Monastery , a church place that was the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, and in the limit of St. Sergius the Miracle - Worker was a wasteland left after the Time of Troubles . In 1651, the village went to Deacon Zakhar Silin, who built a wooden church of the previous dedication - the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos with the chapels of John the Theologian and Sergius of Radonezh.
In 1787, the then owner of the estate, Ekaterina Petrovna Tolstaya, received permission from the Spiritual Consistory to build a stone church to replace a dilapidated wooden church, but, for an unclear reason, did not. At the beginning of the XIX century, the new owners of the estate - the princes Lobanov-Rostov, through the efforts of Maria Ivanovna, begin construction, completed in 1809.
Before the Great Patriotic War, the abbot, priest Eulampius, died, instead of him the authorities did not allow to appoint a new one and the temple was closed. He was not injured in the war, he was launched, in the 1970s they tried to arrange a bar in the building, then a library - everything ended at the decision stage. In 1990, an Orthodox community was created in the village, in 1995, Metropolitan of Krutitsky and Kolomna, Juvenal appointed a rector in the church - this is considered the year of the revival of the church.
