Biography

Born November 6, 1957 in Helsinki, Finland, in the family of Professor .

From 1996 to 2004 she was a member of the European Parliament from Finland.

From April 19, 2007 to June 22, 2010 she was Minister for European Affairs and Immigration in the second office of Vanhanen and continued to act as Minister from June 22, 2010 to June 22, 2011 in the office of Kiviniemi .

On July 17, 2013, she was elected High Commissioner for National Minorities in the OSCE . [2]
