Content
Geography
It is located on the right bank of the Pingishen branch of the Northern Dvina and on the left bank of the Pingisha river. South of the village is Lake Puddle . The road " Back - Plakhino - Zarechye - Pogost - Tarasitsa " runs through the village. The Pingish stop is located 198 km from Arkhangelsk along the river, above Repny Island. An additional ship passage leads to it, branching from the main ship passage for 197.2 km. To the south of Pogost are the villages of Tarasitsa and Karenga, in the southwest - the village of Bor, in the north - Erzovka. Opposite Pogost, on the right bank of Pingishi, are the villages of Zarechye, Vakhnovo and the non-residential village of Sivozershchina. On the shore of the Northern Dvina, southwest of Pogost, there is a children's recreation camp "Northern Artek", formerly owned by the Severodvinsk " Sevmash enterprise ", and now owned by the regional government.
History
Until 1922, Pogost was part of the Pingish volost of the Kholmogorsky district of the Arkhangelsk province, in 1922-1925 - as part of the Yemets district , in 1925-1929 - as part of the Arkhangelsk district . In 1929, the village of Pogost became part of the Yemetsky District of the Arkhangelsk District of the Northern Territory . Since 1959, after the abolition of the Emetsky district, the village is located in the Kholmogorsky district of the Arkhangelsk region. In Soviet times, in the village of Pingisha there was a branch of the Khavrogorsky breeding plant, and until 2009 - a local private enterprise.

The population of the village, according to the 2010 All-Russian Population Census , was 73 people [4] , in 2002 - 87 people (Russians - 98%) [5] .
