Biography
Alexander Peterson was born in 1759, the son of the ambassador to Bavaria, Christopher Peterson .
He entered the service on December 14, 1784, as a sergeant in the Izmailovsky regiment. On January 17, 1797, he was released as second lieutenant to the St. Petersburg Grenadier Regiment and on October 22 of the same year he was dismissed.
In 1806 he again entered the service of the police as an adjutant to the regional chief of the 2nd region, General of Infantry Bekleshov. On September 14, 1807, he was granted the camera junker and in 1809 was assigned to the Berlin mission.
On June 3, 1812, Peterson entered the military service as a second lieutenant, and for differences in affairs near Vitebsk and Smolensk, he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir with a bow, and for Borodino where he was shot in the head with a golden gun.
On February 6, 1813, he was transferred to cavalry guards for distinction, with production on assignments. On March 23 of the same year he was promoted to headquarters captain. In the campaign of 1814, Peterson was part of the detachment of A.H. Benckendorff , and he particularly distinguished himself in the case under Louvain, where he took 21 guns, of which 16 drowned, for which he was awarded the Order of St. George of the 4th degree.
On August 30, 1814, Aleksandr Khristoforovich Peterson was dismissed from military service, with the production of active state councilors, being granted a chamberlain and reckoned with the Collegium of Foreign Affairs. In 1818 he was dismissed on indefinite leave and on December 19, 1825 he was removed from the list of the deceased.

The eldest three sons graduated from the Naval Cadet Corps in St. Petersburg, the youngest was brought up in Munich.
