History
Alva appeared in the IV century as a result of the collapse of the Meroitic kingdom and was its direct heir. Other fragments of the Meroit power were Macuria and Nobatia .
In the middle of the VI century, all three kingdoms adopted Christianity .
At the end of the VI century, Nobadia, with the support of Byzantium , conquered Makuria and thus created the kingdom of Nubia . At the beginning of the 9th century , John, a native of Alva, seized power in Nubia. In 804, he united under his rule both kingdoms [2] .
