Biography
Winemaker's daughter. At the age of five, she lost her mother and grew up with her grandmother (on the maternal side). She received a classical education, prepared a doctoral dissertation, but did not finish it. Visited Germany, England, Paris. In 1921 she married a lawyer, gave birth to two sons and devoted her life to the family for a long time. She began to write secretly in the same 1921; the first novel was published under the pseudonym Catherine Tisso only in 1934 . Her prose was praised by Gustave Roux and Jean Polan .
The writer has lived all her life in the canton of Vaud, the way of old families and the nature of which is the background of her prose.

Recognition
Literary Prize of the Canton of Vaud ( 1956 ). Since the 1980s, Colon's prose has been translated into German and Italian. In 2008 , the Catherine Colon Association was established in the writer's hometown.
