The signaling pathway is a sequence of molecules through which information from the cell receptor is transmitted within the cell . The signal is transmitted from molecule to molecule in a strictly defined order, which allows us to talk about the signaling path. Most signaling pathways are activated in response to signals external to the cell, such as neurotransmitters , hormones, and growth factors . A minority begins with signals generated within the cell [1] .
Well-studied signaling pathways include PI3K , Wnt , cAMP , and MAPK signaling pathways .
