Education and Creativity
She graduated from the Zhytomyr Music School. V.S. Kosenko, entered the National Music Academy of Ukraine. P. I. Tchaikovsky (class of Eugene Efremov [1] ). After graduating from the NMAU she entered the graduate school of the NMAU. P. I. Tchaikovsky at the Department of Theory of Music, scientific supervisor B. O. Suyut.
She performed in the ensembles of authentic Ukrainian music “The Tree” and “Bozhychi”, later began her solo performing career [2] . Since 2008, headed by the ensemble "Strela" [3] [4] . From 2001 to 2003 she played in the play “In Search of Lost Time ... Life ..” (a joint project of the Center for Contemporary Arts and Arts and the Folk Ensemble “Bozhichi”) [5] .
Nataliya Serbina is currently the only female performer on the wheel lira [1] , but her ethnographic research showed that in the XIX and XX centuries the wheel lyre was not a purely masculine tool [2] . In 2011, the Serbina's solo album was released: “Oh, I’ll see it on a mountain by the way. Lіrichnі pіsnі that psalms of Central Ukraine "on the materials of expeditions to Central Ukraine. This CD was the first solo album by the performer of authentic folklore and the first recording of the performed by women [6] .
Participation in contests and festivals
- Winner of the international folklore festival "Desnyansky round dance" (Bryansk, 2011).
- Winner of the vocal competition of the international folklore festival "Song of the Earth" (Moscow region, Zelenograd, 2011). Winning the "Best Voice" nomination.
- Laureate of the vocal competition of the festival “Interfolk”, St. Petersburg (2011) - in the nomination “solo performance” [7] .
- Laureate of the 1st degree of the Moscow International Festival of Slavic Music, competition of folk ensembles and soloists (Moscow, April 2013)
- Nominee for the Voice of Peace Award at the World of Siberia International Ethnic Festival in Shushenskoye (July 2013)
Research Work
Starting from the first year of the music academy, Natalia Serbina participates in folklore expeditions in Polesie and Volyn [1] . Participant of folk-ethnographic expeditions in Ukraine and Russia: Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn, Rivne, Kiev, Zhitomir, Chernigov, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kherson regions, as well as Kursk, Belgorod and Omsk, where Ukrainians live. Also a multiple participant in folk-ethnographic expeditions from the Emergencies Ministry (1995-2004) in the areas affected by the Chernobyl accident.
She participated in programs devoted to song folklore on Ukrainian and Russian radio (1st, 2nd, 3rd channel, Era, Narodnoe Radio) and television (Ukraine Single, TC Soyuz).
Masterclasses, pedagogy
Since 2000, he has been teaching folklore singing in the studio when they choir them. G. Rope (Kiev). Since 2009, she has been holding regular masterclasses on Ukrainian authentic singing in Moscow, since 2013 - masterclasses on Ukrainian authentic singing in Kharkov.
Since 2014, he has been permanently residing in Moscow, has his own studio and performs with the ensemble Dukach.
Proceedings
Since 1995, Natalia has been participating in scientific conferences in Ukraine, Russia, and Poland.
