Olive Sinior , also a Senior ( born Olive Marjorie Senior ; born December 23, 1941 , the parish of Trelawney , Jamaica ) is a Jamaican and Canadian writer .

Biography
She studied at a high school for girls in Montego Bay . She worked in a newspaper in Kingston . Then she studied journalism in Wales ( Cardiff ) and Canada ( Carleton University , Ottawa , graduated in 1967 ). Returning to Jamaica, she worked as a journalist , then published the Social and Economic Studies journal ( 1972 - 1977 ) at the University of the West Indies , and the Journal of Jamaica ( 1982 - 1989 ) at the Institute of Jamaica. After the devastating hurricane for Jamaica, Gilbert moved to Europe in 1988 , lived in Portugal, the Netherlands, and Great Britain. In 1991, she settled in Canada, where she still lives; annually comes to his homeland.
Creativity
The author of works on the social life and culture of Jamaica. In 1985 she published her first book of poems, in 1986 - her debut book of short stories, and in 2011 - a novel. Author of several books for children.
