Shevchenko ( 1967-1973 , 1977-1988 ) and the State Symphonic Orchestra of the Ukrainian SSR ( 1963-1967 , 1973-1977 ).

Biography

Born on February 28, 1938, in the village of Matskovichi, near Przemysl (now in the commune of Zhurawica , Przemysl County , Subcarpathian Voivodeship , Poland ).

Childhood and youth were spent in Dubliany . In 1955 he graduated from the Lvov Music and Pedagogical College named. F.M. Colessa .

After graduating from college, he worked as a music and singing teacher at the Sokalsky Pedagogical School.

In 1957 he entered the Lviv Conservatory named after N.V. Lysenko (now Lviv National Music Academy named after Nikolai Lysenko ) in the class of conducting N.F. Kolessa , from which he graduated in 1962 .

During his studies, in 1960-1962 , he was the conductor of the Lvov Opera Theater. I. Franko .

In 1962 he moved to Kiev .

In 1963-1967 and 1973-1977 he was the chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Ukrainian SSR . An important place in the repertoire of the orchestra was given to Ukrainian music - N. V. Lysenko , B. N. Lyatoshynsky , S. F. Lyudkevich , L. N. Revutsky , and also Soviet composers - D. D. Shostakovich ( 7th , 8th I , 15th Symphony), S.S. Prokofiev ( 5th Symphony ), T.N. Khrennikova , A.I. Khachaturian , A.Ya. Shtogarenko , etc.

In 1967 - 1973 and since 1977 - the chief conductor of the TUG Shevchenko KUGATOB . Over the years of work in the theater, about two dozen new opera and ballet performances have been staged from its presentation.

Since 1966 - the head of the symphony orchestra and the head of the department of opera and symphonic conducting of the Tchaikovsky State Conservancy Committee (since 1973 - associate professor , since 1986 - professor ).

Toured abroad ( Great Britain , Japan , Italy , Bulgaria , Poland , Hungary , Spain ) [1]

He died on October 23, 1988 (according to other sources - November 23 [2] ) in Kiev . He was buried in Kiev at the Baikov Cemetery .
