Biography
Born on June 13 (according to other sources , September 12 [1] ) in 1746 in Libau. The son of Colonel of the Swedish army, Valentin-Johann Creidener (1695-1751) from a marriage with Margaret von Troutvetter.
He studied at the Faculty of Law of the University of Leipzig .
He began his career as an attaché to the Russian mission in Madrid , then was transferred to Warsaw as secretary of the mission. He served as an adviser to the embassy in Courland (1779-1780), then there he was the envoy (1780-1784). Then he was a messenger in Venice (1784-1785), Bavaria (1785-1786), Denmark (1786-1794), Spain (1794-1797).
In November 1799, Paul I sent Creedene an envoy to Berlin - two months after the suspension of relations with Prussia. On May 9, 1800 he was awarded the Order of St. John of the Jerusalem Commander's Cross "... with an exponential for the first Commanderhood of a thousand rubles, which will become vacant ...". With the assistance of Kriedener, an agreement was signed with Prussia from July 16 to 28, 1800 in Peterhof .
Alexey Ivanovich Kridener was an outstanding person. He traveled a lot and his interesting recordings of impressions of what he saw testifies to a wide range of interests and serious knowledge. “The Diary of the Journey of Baron Creedener in 1786” stands in a series of memoirs about Italy left by prominent people of his time: Montaigne, Goethe, Chateaubriand, de Stael, Stendhal.
He also described the societies of Leon, Geneva, Lausanne, Capri. The future Chancellor of Russia - Count Karl Nesselrode (1780-1862), who served in Berlin as one of the young employees of Creedener, left the following memories of his boss:
“... In August 1801 I was in Berlin. Baron Creidener received me with special participation. He settled, hosted my first diplomatic steps, and provided me with his son (17-year-old Pavel) the course of civil law at the famous Ansillon, then professor of history at the military academy. ”
In a letter from Berlin on November 10, 1801, Nesselrode reaffirmed his opinion about Creender:
"... I have enough opportunities here to improve my knowledge and get in the course of affairs with the help of Baron Creiden, who is without a doubt one of our best specialists."
A.I. Kridener died on June 2, 1802 in Berlin from an apoplexy strike .

Kridener was married three times:
- from 1772 to 1775 - at Rebecca Svidland;
- from 1777 to 1782 - on Eve Maria Shik, daughter of the mayor of Riga;
- from 1782 to 1792 - on Barbara-Julia von Fitingof (1764-1824), subsequently a famous writer and religious activist.
- Children - the son of Paul-Ludwig (1784-1858), as well as daughters - Sofia-Isabella-Dorothea (1773-1847) and Sofia-Julia (1787-1865).
