Geographical position
The village of Verbki is located 15 km north of the city of Bobruisk, 10 km from the train station Miradino on the Bobruisk-Minsk line, at the confluence of the Volchanka River into the Berezina River. Transport links on the Svisloch-Sychkovo and Minsk-Bobruisk roads.
History
Stone Age settlements near the village of Verbki testify to the settlement of this territory in ancient times. The village of Verbka has been known since the beginning of the 20th century. In 1907 there were 3 courtyards in the Svisloch volost of Bobruisk district of the Minsk province. In 1917 - a farm, 8 yards. In 1926 - a village, 13 courtyards. In 1933, the collective farm “Giant” was organized in the village. During World War II, 3 villagers died at the front. In 1986, as part of the Lenin state farm, 16 households. In 2014, Verbki has 7 households, 11 residents, including 6 over working age.
Settlement Planning
Planningly, the village represents a rectilinear meridional street with two-sided wooden buildings of the manor type.
Archaeological sites
Near the village of Verbka there are 3 sites of the Stone Age. The parking lots were examined in the 1980s by the Belarusian archaeologist Vladimir Pavlovich Ksendzov. Survey materials are stored at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus.
Parking 1
It is located 300 meters southeast of the village, on the left bank of the Volchanka River (the right tributary of the Berezina River). The size of the parking lot is 100 × 30 meters. The archaeologist V.P. Ksendzov discovered and explored the parking lot in 1982. The cultural layer is 0.15 m, lying at a depth of 0.2-0.3 m from the surface, damaged by long-term arable work. During the excavation, flint scrapers, plates, and nuclei were collected.
Parking 2
Located 1 km east of the village, on the second floodplain terrace on the right bank of the Berezina River. Area 600 sq. m. Discovered and explored the parking in 1982, archaeologist V.P. Ksendzov. A cultural layer 0.2 m thick, lying at a depth of 0.25-0.45 m in dark yellow sand. Found nuclei, plates, splinters, implements made of high quality dark blue flint. Currently, the parking area is located under summer cottages.
Parking 3
Located 1.3 km south-west of the village, on the first floodplain terrace on the right bank of the Berezina River. The parking area is 400 square meters. m. Discovered and explored the parking lot in 1985 V.P. Ksendzov. The cultural layer is damaged by many years of arable work. During the excavation, fragments, plates and cores of chalk flint were collected.
